Johnny Derden

My name is Johnny Derden III. I’m currently 43 years old and will be turning 44 on March 28th. I’ve been blessed with an amazing wife of 26 years who I’m still absolutely crazy about. We were high school sweethearts, and it truly was love at first sight. From the day we met, we’ve pretty much been inseparable.

We have two incredible children. Our firstborn, our daughter Christabelle, is definitely a daddy’s girl. She also holds a special place in history as the first baby born in Parker County, Texas, in 2004. She is now 22 years old and has blessed us with our grandson, Ace, who has completely stolen my heart. Our second child is our son, Johnny Derden IV — I had to carry on the family tradition. He’s now 14 years old and keeps us busy and proud.

I’ve been in the HVAC industry for almost 30 years. Growing up, I always knew I wanted a career where I could interact with people and help them daily. HVAC was the perfect fit. My uncle owned his own HVAC company when I was young, and he was like a father figure to me.

In my eyes, he was the best HVAC guy around — and he truly was. I wanted to follow in his footsteps and be the best at what I do as well.

No matter what I’m doing, big or small, I always strive to give it my best. I believe that if you know you’ve done something to the best of your ability, that’s all anyone can ask. I’ve raised my kids with that same mindset. I never allowed them to quit something halfway through just because it got tough. If they wanted to stop, they had to finish the season or the year first. I believe commitment and perseverance build character.

As for hobbies, I enjoy fishing, golf, and frisbee golf. But more than anything, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family — especially my grandson. He’s growing so fast and is already almost three years old. Watching him grow has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
